This view specifies the structure of the data record in the rdd file created for the report, or from an .xsd file that defines an XML data source. The rdd file is extracted from your BDL file. See the Genero Studio >> Report Writer documentation topic "Steps to a Report" for more details.
Although the data for the report originally may have come from several different data tables, the PRINT statement in your BDL REPORT program block outputs the data as part of a single record. See the Genero Studio >> Report Writer documentation topic "Writing the BDL Program" for more information.
- The arrows icon allows you to sort the data items alphabetically.
- Values in the sample data column are displayed when you preview a report. Double-click a value to edit or replace it.
- The Filter Fields By Name edit box at the bottom of the Data View allows you to specify that only the fields containing the name that you enter in the box are displayed in the data items.

Click the Open Data Report File icon at the top of the Data View to specify the rdd file or xsd file that is to be used to populate the Data View.
